Settling In

After a slightly tearful, but safe flight, I arrived and was met by Joelle on Tuesday morning at the airport, it suddenly hit me that I was in South Africa and I had committed to spending a year here…had I done the right thing? Was this really Gods plan for me? Then I remembered a verse He had given me when I was praying about coming out to SA. Proverbs3v5-6 ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.’
So Joelle had to go to work, therefore I had time to sleep as I had hardly slept on the plane. The next few days I was hanging loose, unpacking, sorting out my phone, meeting up with Adam Bull, Chris Lockwood, Mike and Lydia Jones and new friends! On Friday afternoon, I went to visit the clinic in Jubilee Church where I will be volunteering 3 days a week. I touched base with the staff there and got a better idea of what I will be doing, it made me very excited to be starting on Tuesday. My mains roles will be meeting the patients as they come for their appointments, taking calls from new and current patients, translating if and when required and administration. The clinic have been desperate for someone to come who knows admin and can organise the patients files etc. Hopefully I can help in some way with that!
The other two days I will be at a care hospice, at the moment some changes are happening within the organisation and hopefully I can begin the following week.
So far I am enjoying myself, enjoying meeting new friends, enjoying living with Joelle and Lindo and looking forward to starting work. Thank you so much for all your prayers, please continue to pray that this continues.
